Week of October 20th

Photos:

Needle Eye rock formation near the outermost point of the Penninsula..

Looking out at one of New Zealand's old strategic military installations. During WWII, it contained the largest hidden artillery gun ever made. There's your history lesson for the day..

Expanding out into the ocean, the road just suddenly drops off. This area is also host to seals and yellow-eyed penguins.

Absolutely gorgeous coastline 10 minutes outside the city..

The only seal we saw all day came up from behind and scared the hell out of us....you can't tell, but he's really giving us the finger in this photo.

Another view of the coast from the sandspit that extends into the ocean...

A view of the penninsula from the Dunedin...

Jeannine took a Saturday afternoon and went out for some riding on the beach...

View of the people in her party on the beach....

Jeannine and Anna on their horses.

Happening quite often due to the rapid changes in percipitation, rainbows pop up everywhere down here.

A view from the Jeannine's horse looking onshore.

Our landlords, Trudi and Ian

Clemantis covering the garage..and this is only October!

Beautiful flowering tree in our backyard..
