Spiders and Clowns... So,
we decided to move. An opportunity arose that we couldn't turn
down and we're now living in much more pleasant surroundings
than our last home. Actually, our last place was more like a
flat; now we're in a real home: our first one. Two stories,
three bedrooms, two baths, porch, some fish, and most
importantly, a hot tub. All for $40.00 less a month than our
last place. Sometimes it truly is all about who you know.
Of course, no new place is complete without some unique characteristics
to discover. It's fully furnished (Satellite TV, VCR, Beds,
Kitchen-ware, sofas, etc.) but it also has come fully stocked
with CLOWNS. Yup, everywhere. Our landlord enjoys clowns. They
hang from the ceilings, sit on top of the stereos, and watch
you in the bathroom. J and I both dislike clowns. They're
scary. So, needless to say, the clowns will be laughing it up
in the storage area quite soon.
Something else just as fun as clowns, and in even more abundance, are
SPIDERS. Since our landlord hasn't lived in the home in over a
year, it's fallen on us to rid the house of these eight legged
death walkers. Now, I've been fighting Jeannine to simply
capture the arachnids and throw them outside, but everyone,
sometimes they're just too big to capture. Back home, we have
the occasional large spider. Here, you have the occasional
small spider. The rest are gigantic New Zealand monsters.
They're quick, they're smart, and they hate Americans. We did
battle for a good hour yesterday on just our backyard table
alone. One fu#$er even managed to bite me in the tricep.
Lucikly, they're not poisonous.
Anyways, beyond that, we love our new home. We just wish we
had more people to fill it with. Anyone want to come visit?
(Of course, I think I just did the worst advertising with the
above paragraph.)
This weekend we head to Queenstown for the first time.
White Water rafting, water skiing, the works. In a couple
weeks, Jeannine's parents will be here for a month, so we'll
be traveling and updating quite a lot. Check out the pictures
below in the meantime!
