Hangin' with Friends...

This past weekend we returned to the Catlins ready to hit Cathedral Caves and those little sites we missed the first time around. This time, however, we were accompanied by our adventure partners, Chris and Sharon. Loaded with alcohol, cheap sandwich-making supplies, and plenty of free time, we set out to check out this rarely-visited part of the South Island. For once, Jeannine and I actually got to play tour guide as we had passed this way back in November.
The weather all weekend--scratch that, all winter--has been fantastic. If this is Winter, I'll take it. Temperatures have rarely been below 50 degrees during the day and only touching freezing at night. We've actually had more sunny days than the entire summer! We'll take it though as it leaves excellent weekend opportunities to check out those few remote places we have yet to explore.
Check out the photos below for descriptions of our latest getaway.
